Markings Page 2
Tuesday 19th, contrary to the weather forecast, it was a calm, warm and sunny day, ideal for painting markings!! Next to be applied was the hood star. After drawing out a template on paper, this was transferred to the hood in pencil, then masked. After the in-fills between the points of the stars was masked, the rest of the Jeep was covered in old sheets, then the area was sprayed.

Before the star was unmasked, the "Prestone 44" antifreeze coding was added to the hood. Also, while the colour was mixed, I added the Tyre Pressure instructions to the instrument panel.

With the yellow dry, the sheets and masking was carefully removed, to leave a beautiful circle and star.

Next to be painted was the body side star, carefully positioned around a minefield of previous aerial mounting holes.

The clouds were starting to gather so the Jeep was driven to the end of the street for a few photos in case the weather turned.

With the pictures taken, the Jeep was driven back to the drive to paint the "USA" either side of the star.

By the time the "USA" was dry, the day was over; but there was just enough time for me to take Lynne out for her first "Jeep Driving" lesson.

A few days later, the hood serial number was added, and any over-spray through the stencil was removed with a petrol soaked rag.
