4th - Rear Brake Cylinder Replace
The Ford was last out in September 2025. Over the winter, I noticed a fluid trail, down the inside of the rear left tyre and the brake fluid level was slowly falling. It looked like a wheel cylinder as leaking. Due to the cold winter weather, I decided to put the job off until it warmed up, but then a nine month decorating project got in the way and the GPW was left sitting on axle stands. It was run occasionally to keep things alive, but it wasn't until August that the decorating project was out of the way and I could turn my attention to the Jeep. I decided to just fit a complete new
cylinder, rather than mess around just swapping seals. It was only a
couple of hours work and when complete, the Jeep was run again and the
wheels spun and brakes tested while still on the axle stands. After that
it was lowered to the ground and just needs some fresh fuel before a
test drive. |
