Pre-Autumn Jeep Drive - October 19th

I was going to take the Ford out for a ride this morning. However, while getting it out of the garage, I realised the brake pedal was soft, but firmed up with pressing. The fluid level is okay, but there's air in there somewhere. So I swapped the Jeeps over, took the flying control roof and sign off Jessie and went for a 10 mile drive in the M201.

It's around this time of year that I normally go for a "Colours of Autumn" drive, but the trees aren't quite there yet and there's still a lot of green in the leaves that haven't fallen. I'll try again next weekend if the weather looks okay. The early forecast was still a bit unsettled, but it is a week away. That trip is planned to be around 30 miles.

So today's trip stayed fairly local, in a circular tour along the country lanes around a few local villages. The immediate location around where I live has a few trees dotted around, but very few large wooded areas for pictures. Most of the land here is farmland for crops or grazing, with Hawthorn hedge boundaries and occasional trees.

Despite being late October, it was fairly mild. I had considered taking my flying jacket, but opted for a fleece jacket in the end. By the time I got home, I was quite hot from the effort of driving and leaping in and out of the Jeep for pictures. Now as I type this mid afternoon, it's raining!
