A simple CD spectroscope for splitting light and studying the spectrum - 09-07-14
The first test was white light from the Sun ( seen below ). The full spectrum is there, and when using it visually, you can see a few thin absorbtion lines.

As a comparison to the Sun light, I imaged an energy efficient bulb, which shows how much of the spectrum is missing from these lights.
