Jupiter 2021
My first reasonable
capture of Jupiter since 2017. It was too low to be seen from my Washington
observatory over the last few years, 'though I had a go from the front garden in
2020 with the 130M scope. Jupiter is still very low in the sky, but the new
location gives a better Southern view, allowing me to use the 8 inch reflector.
The first captures were with the ASI178MM using the IR and Solar Continuum
filters.
I then switched to the ASI120MC-S and atmospheric dispersion corrector for the
colour set. The seeing conditions weren't great and the very low altitude didn't
help, but I'm quite happy with the results considering and it was nice to
capture Jupiter again -
