Storage Depot 41, Kingman,AZ

Storage Depot 41 is set at Kingman, Arizona in late 1945. The war is over and military supplies are being shipped back from the West coast to bases around the USA. At Kingman Army Air Field, Storage Depot 41, thousands of US warplanes, now obselete, are slowly scrapped and recycled into aluminium ingots.

The N scale layout was built in three sections that stack together for transport.Overall, it measures 11 feet 6 inches long by 2 feet 6 inches wide, of which, 6 inches is a hidden yard to the rear of the layout.

Three separate lines operate, the outer two which are plain ovals, each with a twin track yard at the front of the layout. The third inner line is a figure 8 configuration. Both the outer and inner lines have spurs to industries or military camps. All three lines have connecting tracks to allow trains to move from one to another.

Buildings, vehicles, aircraft and some rolling stock was scratch built.
