Almost all the locomotives are new, purchased in late 2006/07. The exception is the Rivarossi 4-8-8-4 'Big Boy', purchased back in 1980 when I first started modelling American N scale. The other locos are made by Life-Like and Kato.

All are great runners, 'though the Like-Like locos stand out from the rest for slow smooth running. All have been bought with, or converted to, Microtrains couplers to replace the old unscale Rapido types.
