Ongoing Work in 2015

March 7th - Preparing for the Season

The first event of 2015 is at the back end of March, so not far away. It was time to get Jessie ready. I haven't given it the spring service yet, but I've given it a walk around inspection, and there aren't any issues. The Spring service can wait until April when the weather will hopefully be a bit warmer for crawling around, but if it does warm up before then, I'll grab the opportunity.

I still need to go for a longer run out to check the rebuilt engine out, but it was much too cold and windy today. So this morning, I refitted the checkered canvas, sides and doors, plus the Follow Me light box, and then went for a short drive to get some fuel.

Picture 1) The roof bows are unstrapped and the front bow tipped all the way forwards. The roof canvas is then hooked over the rear bow and clipped onto the top of the windscreen. The light box and first side panel are brought out ready for fitting.

Picture 2) The front bow is raised and the roof clipped to it. The left side, rear panel is screwed in place. The light box is lifted into place and screwed in place. The right side rear panel is slotted into place and the screws fitted.
Picture 3) The roof canvas rear straps are fastened and the doors brought out. The doors have quick release hinge pins so it doesn't take long to fit them - just line up the two parts of the hinge and drop the pin into place.
