Map Case

Here's the map case, bought from Ebay. Manufactured by W & G Ltd in 1944, this is an English style case, but as so much equipment was loaned to the Americans upon their arrival, I have no problem using and displaying it with US equipment.

Apart from the plastic insert being slightly yellowed with age, it is in great condition. A quick search of the net provided me with a large resolution map of Berlin. This was printed, along with a few other pages to pad it out

1940's period Stars & Strips

Another essential accessory was a 48 Star flag and pole. It's surprising how many people fly a 50 star flag without realising that it is a post war flag.

100th Bomb Group Photo Album

An accessory of sorts, this is one of the props to go on display with the jeep. It's a vintage styled leather bound photo album of the airfield and group to which the jeep I based mine on belonged to

I ended up making the horsehide bound album after failing to find one to buy.  Wartime pictures were reprints  from the 100th Bomb Group Museum archives

Parts Crates

Another accessory is two wooden airplane parts crates, which make excellent seats while out and about. Originally fitted with a sound system to play aircraft sounds and 1940's music, it is now used to carry my K-20 camera and other photo accessories for the 'Station Photo' GPW Jeep

Presidential Unit Citation

Medal Collection

As of the end of January '06, I started a collection of medals that were awarded to the 100th BG personnel. The Bronze star is the only non-aircrew medal, purchased only because it came in a set with the Silver Star and Purple Heart.

All the medals below were awarded to members of the 100th Bomb Group around which my Jeep and display is based.
