Breighton Aerodrome Visit & Piper Supercruiser Flight - November 4th

As the year draws to a close, I made one more trip to Breighton Aerodrome while visiting my dad for the weekend in Beverley. No Jeep this time, just the normal car, and needing to catch up with a few people about model builds I've been doing for them. It was raining first thing in the morning and thick fog on the way to the airfield, but it slowly cleared the further we went. By late morning, there were aircraft out and some flying going on.
There was quite a bit of hangar shuffling too, with a number of aircraft needing to be moved to get at those at the back. The "Bumble Bee" Tipsy Nipper was out for engine runs following the fitting of a new tank and fuel pump, and the Comper Swift moved to get at the SIAI-Marchetti SF-260, squeezed in next to the Broussard.

After lunch, and not long before we had to leave, dad and I were both offered flights in the Piper Supercruiser, G-BSYG seen below. It was a very enjoyable 20 minutes on what turned out to be a very nice flying day with excellent visibility, the overnight rain having cleaned the atmosphere. The map at the end of the page shows the route we took, plotted from studying my photos and video of the flight. A brief video of the take off, parts of the flight and landing is also at the bottom of the page.
The train didn't stand a chance against our imaginary 20mm canon!
