Weardale Railway - August 2/3rd

I was lying in bed on Friday evening, while the rain hammered down on the tent, as hopes of a good weekend were slowly being washed away. However, tomorrow was another day, although the forecast wasn't great either, but we've learned that the weathermen/women don't really have a clue what they're talking about. As it turned out, each morning was met with showers on and off, clearing up in the afternoons to give us hot dry weather.

The Crusader 80 group were one of those with post war vehicles on display, their large Bedford truck and trailer only just fitting through the gates at the level crossing onto the show field. There was also a German unit sheltering under canvas and behind the remains of a bombed out building. They were involved in a battle between the English, US and French underground once each day.
