Sunday followed the same format, although I think
someone beat me to the bugler, as his Sunday Reveille rendition was only a
few out of tune notes. Several marching bands were also in attendance
across the weekend, weaving through the crowds of people, but one
unfortunate bass drummer didn’t see the 45 gallon drum in the trade area
that the rest of the band avoided.

There were several battles performed in the arena
across the weekend. There were also several hands on displays that
included a Belgian Army Gatling Gun and a Flight Simulator, both which
were popular with the younger members of the crowd.

A Eurofighter
Typhoon gave a short display on Sunday, part of which used full re-heat setting both
babies and car alarms wailing.

Late on Sunday, the aircraft began to depart, most
giving a few passes for the crowds.

Most of the vehicles left on Sunday evening, but
our group stayed until Monday before catching the ferry home. Lynne and I
moved on to Holland for a week as she didn’t want all her holiday to be
taken up with green things, but that didn’t stop us visiting Arnhem; but
that’s another story. I’m writing this a week later on our return
journey, and while I haven’t spoken to any of our guys since the show,
I’m fairly sure they would all consider another European trip.
