Reveille
blasted out across the airfield at 7:00am, a bit too early for me
considering the disco hadn't long finished! It was a dry morning with the
sun trying hard to break through the clouds and promised to be a good day.
For those who haven’t been to Ursel, the show is located on an airfield.
The military vehicles, re-enactor displays and aircraft located each side
of the runway, while the trade is along the parallel taxiway. That meant
plenty of room for vehicles and a lot of trade.

The show opened at 9:00am and not long after,
Lynne and I hit the trade, but not planning to spend much of course! ). I
bought some patches for my HBT coveralls and a set of plugs for the Jeep.
Lynne on the other hand was haemorrhaging Euros faster than a Jimmy drinks
gas! Others in our group had varying success, some coming away with
excellent buys. There were plenty of German and US items, plus vehicle
spares available, but those with more specific tastes came up short.

It
was early afternoon before we'd finished the trade and moved on to the
vehicles and aircraft. There were about 270 vehicles that were booked in
for the show, and without counting, I’d say most attended. They
weren’t grouped into WW2 & Post War areas as I’ve seen at some
shows, as many entrants with vehicles of different era’s wanted to camp
with friends, as we did in the MVT(NE).
