Ongoing Work
April 2017

April 3rd ~ 11th
On Monday April 3rd, I received a phone call from the yard where the Dodge was kept. He was loosing the land, and had been given five weeks to clear the site.

This resulted in a frantic search for alternative storage. A number of alternatives that were looked at were either too expensive or wouldn't take the container. We considered open caravan storage with a caravan cover over the truck, at least as a temporary measure, until a lucky call found a storage yard that would take our container, was even closer than the original yard, and was only slightly more expensive.

By Thursday 6th, we'd visited the new yard, and signed up to make the move. The owner also had a contact for a transport firm to move the container at a very reasonable price. On Friday, with all the arrangements made, I went to the old yard to collect the Dodge. I brought it home for the weekend, leaving the container empty for the move.

On Tuesday April 11th, the container transporter arrived at the rapidly emptying old yard, collected the container and made the trip of a few miles to the new storage yard. I followed him there to get a key for the new place and to check the access to the container was suitable for the Dodge to drive in without obsticles.

Later in the day, I drove the Dodge over and squeezed it back into its home.
