Hydrogen Alpha Sun

Late on the 23rd, I noticed a giant prominence on the Western limb of the Sun. It had been cloudy all day, there was no chance of catching it. However, on the morning of the 24th, it was still there, and the sky was clear. I got set up but had to be patient, the Sun wasn't above the house roof. By 11:23hrs UTC, the Sun had risen halfway above the house roof ( see other images ). Clouds were on their way and it wasn't until around 11:45hrs that the Sun cleared the roof, allowing this full disc capture. These three images are the same capture processed with false colour, greyscale and simulated Ha red light - 24-02-17
